Companies continue to work towards improving the work pace of their employees, whether in-person or remote. To ensure both groups of workers have harmony and balance in their activities, it is important to manage quality communication, where both physical presence and virtual interactions coordinate their tasks efficiently. The Bulletins and Milestones apps are built on the Power Platform, so they can be extended using the low-code platform within Microsoft Teams to adapt the apps to each business’s needs, which, according to Microsoft, would allow for "immediate productivity gains." Dataverse is the new name for Microsoft's big data service, formerly called Common Data Service (CDS), used within Teams. Bulletins, as the name suggests, are about keeping work teams informed while they work remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic. "Keeping your team informed with the latest company news and information is crucial in normal times, even more so when team members are working remotely during the pandemic," mentions Microsoft. "The Bulletins solution allows the communication team to share company or department news and information in a central place. News articles can be organized into categories and include rich content like images, videos, and actionable buttons. Editors can also see metrics for published articles, such as viewing rates over time." Teams users can pin the Bulletins app on the left panel of the platform, customize their views, or mark interesting articles as favorites. Additionally, it is optimized for iOS and Android devices, allowing users to post or read new messages. Microsoft is thinking about frontline workers in the field who need to send and receive timely information, such as weather updates and system outages. Companies can also add their own branding to the apps. Milestones help users track the status of goals that teams have set. "Milestones enhance collaboration for these cross-functional teams by creating a central place to track status and updates. This app can be pinned to the team channel or on the left rail for easy access," explains Microsoft. The app is also extensible, allowing its use with other project tracking software, but in a user-friendly low-code package that enables users to update fields, add new fields, or add notifications based on a particular workflow. To maximize the use of these tools, consider developing apps for Microsoft Teams, which allows for customizing and extending the platform’s capabilities according to your business’s specific needs. *These applications may incur additional Microsoft licensing costs.Microsoft introduced two new Power Apps to add to its collaboration suite within Teams, with Bulletins and Milestones arriving as line-of-business applications for “Dataverse for Teams”
