In the context of the coronavirus, many people today work remotely. Some employees will continue with that modality, while others will have to return to the office. Almost five months after the arrival of this disease, a large part of the workers are performing their tasks remotely. However, many returned or will soon return to the offices. The large number of people who have lived together in the same space for years will no longer be possible. There will be great changes in terms of infrastructure in organizations. First of all, distancing protocols must be adopted, which means lower density per square meter. This will generate in many companies the need to reduce the number of people in the office and with this give rise to more remote work. There are many organizations that today are carrying out protocols to be able to return to the offices, but for that to happen, the safety of the members of the company must be guaranteed, such as the minimum distance they must maintain one person from the other, air circulation, a constant cleaning protocol and the measurement of body temperature. On the other hand, the home office rotation system with face-to-face work is ideal for those organizations that cannot, due to infrastructure issues, provide a corresponding distance. One of the biggest changes is related to the layout of people at work desks. One change will be that they take places sitting diagonally to their teammates instead of directly facing each other. Another way is to put the desks with dividers that seek to avoid contagion between them, like the old cubicles. The arrival of the pandemic in people's lives did not give anyone time to prepare for the consequences. From the preventive and mandatory social isolation that led thousands of workers to carry out their tasks remotely, to many others who had to stop until further notice. Unlike other crises, we believe that in this case, many things are here to stay and that forces organizations to rethink fundamental aspects in the way they do their jobs
Until a few months ago, everyone was very clear about what the concept of "office" was. Today, after the arrival of the pandemic, the revolution in the workplace has returned, and offices will no longer be the same.
Today it seems impossible to conceive the idea of an office full of collaborators.
Today to speak of an office is also to speak of an experience that involves much more than going to sit in a chair.
